About

We are Vivid Dance, a team of dance professionals who have a strong interest in teaching dance in education and the community.

Based in the North of England (North East) we offer dance workshops and projects in an array of different dance techniques and styles to suit your needs.

Vivid Dance was founded in 1999 by Simon in the North West where he taught in educational and community settings in collaboration with other dance artists. In 2004 he moved to the North East to join Tees Valley Dance, an educational dance theatre company. This is also where he met Zubaidah who joined the company in 2005.

When Tees Valley Dance restructured in 2012 due to funding cuts, Simon & Zubaidah were offered the opportunity to continue Tees Valley Dance’s workshop portfolio. This is where Simon picked up Vivid Dance with Zubaidah as a partner.

Our workshops and projects are a culmination of work created for Tees Valley Dance and our own new initiatives.

Consultation

We can offer support and guidance in planning dance classes or projects for your school or dance company. We will closely listen to your wishes and develop them in a way that will achieve high standards. This can be done on an individual basis or as whole school / company.

Classroom Moves

This classroom based movement programme is the ultimate alternative education programme for primary school teachers. It is a set of activities that are all tried and tested to take place in the classroom. Using the programme will creatively increase physical activity in the school days as well as deliver learning in a new and creative way.
